Chum fishing is becoming less productive as the bulk of the run has now passed through our local waters. The bright spot is that there are good numbers of feeder or winter Chinook holding in the Lighthouse and Hump areas. These fish are typically here for most of the winter, until the herring spawn in March. Smaller than mature summer Chinook, winter Springs key on smaller bait and tackle offerings.
Tomic plugs in 4" and 4" Tubby sizes are good choices, as well as needlefish hoochies and 3.5 or 4" Coyote spoons.
